Health, Safety & Compliance

Mainstay make Health, Safety & Compliance an absolute priority to ensure the protection of all employees, clients, customers, residents, visitors at our offices or developments.

For our developments, it is crucial we demonstrate that the Landlord's obligations are being met or that all reasonable steps have been taken to ensure safety on the development.

For our developments, it is crucial we demonstrate that the Landlord's obligations are being met or that all reasonable steps have been taken to ensure safety on the development.

This is a managing agent’s responsibility, in association with the Landlord and RMC / RTM Directors.

Mainstay has adopted BS OHSAS 18001 as a framework for our occupational health and safety management system.

All of our activities and processes are underpinned by an internationally-recognised health and safety management system – BS OHSAS 18001 which is assessed and monitored bi-annually by a reputable quality assurance company LRQA and ensures that we meet (and where possible exceed) recognised standards in line with a continual improvement model.

By having this independent and extremely detailed audit confirms that we are working to the highest of standards which gives us great re-assurance and pride that we are leading on best practice and keeping our communities safe.

Not only do we actively engage our staff in continual improvement but we also actively invite our residents to voice their views via resident committees, their PM etc.

Our in-house Health, Safety and Compliance teams are based at our Worcester office and are suitably qualified and all training is regularly updated.

At development level, Mainstay assumes the role of the ‘responsible person’ or ‘duty holder’ ensuring that the requirements of the primary legislation, other statutory regulations and Approved Codes of Practice (ACoPs) are met with a proactive approach to statutory compliance and planned maintenance regimes.

A regular programme of audits completed by the Property Manager, our central Health and Safety Team and by our external OHSAS 18001 accreditation body ensures ongoing compliance and, where applicable, any appropriate corrective action.
