My Mainstay Story
Marketing and Content Producer
I joined Mainstay in early November joining Pip, Anne & Sarah as the first Apprentice to work within the Marketing team.
Following completion of my Sports and Exercise Science degree at the University of Exeter I joined the team with no Marketing experience, meaning I have had to take time to understand how the Marketing team work collectively with each other and with other sections of the business to produce positive results.
The main purpose of my role is to assist both Pip and Anne in any Mainstay marketing. This ranges from managing the Marketing mailbox, handling complaints sent through Social Media by liaising with relevant Property Managers & Property Service Advisors, producing and designing content to go on both our Twitter & LinkedIn platforms, and dealing with Google Reviews both positive and negative.
I proof read and assist on proposals and assist in the production of tender questionnaires, as well as co-ordinate work with our external graphic designer on individual projects, which has allowed me to hone key skills such as communication and content writing. I have produced several videos, photos and blogs for our social media platforms which have had positive reactions both internally and externally.
Since joining Mainstay I have also extended my ability to be more digitally aware, by learning how to use the WordPress site to make amendments to both our vacancies page on a day-day basis and a monthly basis with our happy customer’s page.
During the first half of my apprenticeship I have extended my knowledge of both Property Management and Marketing. This has been done through an array of inductions with a number of departments: Mobilisation, Property Services, Customer Service, Property Inspector and Business Development. Getting out and about to sites was extremely worthwhile as it has allowed me to see firsthand the great work we do.
In my spare time, I play semi-professional rugby for Luctonians RFC who, following a gruelling 26 game season, finished 2nd in the Midlands Premier Division. A play-off game against our northern counterparts from Blaydon followed, where we were able to bring home a 31-17 victory and return to the National Leagues at the first time of asking.
I am extremely excited for my future with Mainstay and I look forward to the next 6 months’ of my apprenticeship.
I am also a keen traveller and have been fortunate enough to have lived in Sydney, Australia, travelled round parts of North America & Canada and toured South Africa. I still also occasionally work in my old role in the Mobile Catering industry where I am responsible for leading a team who prepare, cook and serve food and drinks at events such as Goodwood Festival of Speed, Cheltenham Gold Cup, London Marathon and many local shows.
