Stephen Richards MRICS, CIHCM, MIRPM

Stephen worked as a Housing Manager for Birmingham City Council in the mid 1980's before joining Grimley JREve (now GVA) in 1988 as a Senior Surveyor specialising in commercial property management. He has also worked in a similar capacity for both DTZ and CBRE where he was involved in the day to day management of commercial property portfolios. In 1998 he returned to residential property management, when he joined Lambert Smith Hampton as Director where his primary role was the management of two significant residential property portfolios totalling in excess of 4,000 properties. He remained there until 2013 when he joined Mainstay as Director with specific responsibility for Portfolio & Asset Management. During his career Stephen has amassed a wealth of portfolio & asset management experience in both residential and commercial property sectors.

David is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with 12 years' experience in both property and asset management. He recently joined Mainstay from CBRE where he was an Associate Director running the regional and national portfolio in Birmingham.

He has wide experience on large commercial Office, Industrial and retail premises and specialises in mixed use schemes, most recently working on The Cube a 500,000 sq ft scheme in Birmingham.

David currently oversees the commercial team and works as client liaison for a number of schemes.

Nick is a chartered building surveyor and joined Mainstay Commercial in July 2014. He has over 20 years of experience in private practice consultancy with organisations including CBRE, DTZ and Fusion Building Surveying. Nick is responsible for the development of Mainstay's building surveying service, and has a wealth of experience across all property sectors.

Alex Billington

Management Surveyor

Alex joined Mainstay in May 2013 and worked within property support services acting as Corporate Secretary to a large number of residential and commercial management companies. Alex moved to the commercial team in November 2015 and is working through his chartership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors alongside his Master's degree in Real Estate Management.

Alex currently oversees the management of a number of property portfolios comprising of Office, Retail and Industrial units, providing property and asset management advice to his clients.

Tom James

Building Surveyor

Tom is a Building Surveyor currently working through his chartership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and joined Mainstay in October 2014. He completed his BSc (Hons) Building Surveying degree at The University of the West of England. Since then he has gone on to work for the Canal and River Trust as a Building Surveyor and A Shade Greener as a Solar PV Surveyor. Tom has been brought in to support the Head of Building Surveying and Mainstay's building surveying service.

Samantha joined Mainstay Commercial in June 2011 and is responsible for providing the Commercial Director and Property Managers with assistance in the day-to-day management of the Commercial portfolio. Specific duties include credit control, facilities management, client accounting and general administration.

Prior to joining Mainstay, Samantha worked within the insurance industry as a Training Officer and Systems Coordinator.

Julie Taylor

Julie joined Mainstay Commercial in June 2007 and is responsible for providing the Commercial Director and Property Managers with assistance in the day-to-day management of the Commercial portfolio. Specific duties include credit control, facilities management, client accounting and general administration.

Prior to joining the Commercial Team, Julie worked in the Sheltered Team within Mainstay.

Rebecca Edney

Rebecca joined the commercial management team in May 2015 and provides support to Commercial Property Management and Building Surveying teams. Specific duties include contractor liaison, report writing, credit control, client accounting and general administration.

Scott Keith

Portfolio Accountant

Scott has worked as part of the Mainstay Commercial team since June 2013 and has progressed rapidly from Portfolio Assistant to Portfolio Accountant. Scott is AAT qualified and has overall responsibility for rent and service charge administration, overseeing the purchase ledger function as well as other finance related activities such as client reporting and the production of VAT returns.

Hugh Griffiths

Hugh has worked as part of the Mainstay Commercial team since June 2014, having made the transition from Bookselling to Accounting. Hugh is AAT level 2 qualified, and is currently studying level 3. He is largely responsible for the purchase ledger function, as well as supporting Scott with client reporting and other finance duties.

Jacob Grey

Finance Assistant

Jacob joined Mainstay in April 2015 and is largely responsible for the cashiering function as well as assisting with purchase ledger. He also has previous experience with payroll preparation and bank reconciliations. Jacob is AAT level 2 qualified.
